The fourth International Gambling Conference (IGC) will be held in Auckland, New Zealand from February 22-24, 2012. The conference is being jointly hosted by the Problem Gambling Foundation of Auckland, the Gambling and Addictions Research Centre of Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and Hapai Te Hauora Tapui Maori Public Health.
The IGC is a bi-annual conference that has become a leading event discussing problem gambling. The event is attended by delegates from all over the world. In 2010, the event attracted 220 delegates from New Zealand, Australia, the US, Canada, Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Finland, Sweden, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands.
The aim of the conference is to discuss ways to eliminate problem gambling and its effect on individuals and their families and community. It aims to provide those who work in the sector with improved skills, to discuss the latest research in the area and to confer over public health and treatment techniques. The conference also encourages national and international cooperation.
In addition, from January 23 to 26, 2012, there will be an ICE conference in London England. This will be a series of eight conferences and delegates will be able to choose which to attend. The topics include Combating Cyber Crime, World Regulatory Briefing, Multi Channel Lottery, Integrating Offline and Online Gaming, CRM and Retention in Gaming, Mobile Gaming and Monetising Social in Gaming.
ICE Totally Gaming will be attended by thousands of gaming professional from around the world and promises to be the largest gaming exhibition ever hosted. The Totally Gaming Awards will be held on January 23 and will recognize and reward innovation, services and products from the gaming industry. There will also be awards in the categories of media, marketing and outstanding contribution to the industry. These awards are open to all operators in the European gaming market.
