Bet24 has announced the expansion of their mobile poker app to 14 countries. The iPhone app, which was released in France, Austria and the UK in December 2011, is now widely available around Europe.
Bet24′s real money poker app will now be available in Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.
Lars Kollind, Poker Manager for Bet24.com commented, “Mobile has been a true success story for us with thousands of downloads since launch. I have studied the development carefully since launch and I am proud to say that mobile poker generates growth without cannibalizing on current poker revenues from PC and Mac. We are really glad that the customers like our product and use it on a daily basis.”
Kollind went on to explain that around 55% of the population in the EU is able to play real money mobile poker games due to the launch of Bet24′s extension model.
The mobile poker app is available for iPhone and Android users in the UK, France and Austria; however research done by Bet24 has suggested that wagering on mobile devices is much higher among iPhone users. “iOS are, financially speaking, still a more important platform than Android among Ongame’s operators,” read a statement from Bet24.
Only the iPhone app has been released in the new countries. It is likely; however, that Bet24 will develop their Android app considering the numbers of Android devices that are sold on an annual basis in Europe.
The mobile poker app supports Texas hold’em real money games with the table design identical to the one that can be found at their online site. In order to play at Bet24 Mobile, users can download the mobile app from the Bet24 Mobile Poker site or visit the iTunes store.
