Paddy Power Mobile Betting

Paddy Power, the biggest online operator in Australia, through its subsidiary Sportsbet, has announced that its profits in the first half of the year have increased by 15 percent. Compared to the same time last year, profits before tax reached €56.8 million, up from €49.4 million.

Paddy Power has claimed that they have broken into the mobile betting market prior to its rivals. Paddy Power estimated that out of the 833,000 online customers that they have, around 300,000 of them were betting via a tablet computer or a mobile phone. Continue reading

Playtech Plans to Increase Mobile Gaming

Playtech, the major online gambling software provider, has recently released its first half financial results for 2011. Their revenues indicated a 5% increase from €72.9 million to €76.3 million. If adjustments are made for their withdrawal from the French market, revenues indicate an 18% increase for the first half of 2011.

The report that was published referred to three major deals signed by Playtech in the first half of the year. These included a ten year supply deal with Gala Coral, the acquisition of PT Turnkey Services and the acquisition of mobile specialist, Mobenga. Continue reading

Head of Mobile Marketing Appointed at William Hill

William Hill has recently appointed its first head of mobile marketing. Fiona Stevenson will fill the position as William Hill attempts to improve its brand presence in the mobile market.

Stevenson moved to William Hill from EA Mobile where she held the position of product marketing director. Preceding that she was employed by T-Mobile International where she held the position of head of MMS Marketing. Continue reading
